Chairperson McGinn opened the hearing on SB 353. Jill Wolters provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 9)
Doug Jorgensen testified in support of the bill as it would reduce the time and accounting procedures required to maintain two fee funds and it may allow his office to discontinue the boiler inspection fee fund altogether. Businesses are essentially paying the same fee twice because they pay a fee for insurance and then another one for boiler inspections. Fire Marshal Jorgensen responded to questions from Committee members. (Attachment 10)
