Scott Wells, Senior Assistant Revisor provided an overview for HB2537 stating it concerns certain redevelopment authorities established in Johnson and Labette counties. Mr. Wells stood for questions from the Committee.
Chairperson Johnson stated per the fiscal note there is no impact on the state other than the impact on the counties with the amount borrowed.
Michael Johnston, Great Plains Development Authority testified as a proponent for HB2537 noting it would authorize the board of the authority to incur debt to pay costs associated with developing and improving property (Attachment 1). Mr. Johnston introduced Daniel Mann, CEO of Great Plains Development Authority. Mr. Johnston and Mr. Mann stood for questions from the Committee.
Representative Proehl thanked Messrs. Johnston and Mann for the testimony on HB2537. He stated the bill is important to his district and asked the Committee for their support.
